Copenhagen

Our trip to Denmark, June 2004

Two Hans Christian Andertsons. The live one was our tour guide for a couple of walking tours of the city. He was quite good despite being from Bronx, New York. He had been in Copenhagen for several years.

The Rundetaarn (Round Tower), Copenhagen

Inside the Round Tower. This ramp was a several story spiral up (and down). Quite an engineering feat. We were told that a horse and carriage as well as an automobile had ridden to the top.

Inside the Round Tower. The downward view.

A planetary clock inside the Round Tower. The tower itself was built as an observatory.

Holmen's Canal with Christiansborg on the right.

There were many boats of all sorts that had been converted to houseboats and parked along the canals in Copenhagen.

A quick glimpse of Vor Frelsers Kirke (Our Savior's Church), Christianshavn, Copenhagen
